The City of Kirksville’s Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a special meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, in Baldwin Hall 102 (Little Theatre) at Truman State University, 100 E. Normal Ave. — not City Hall. See the official meeting agenda (PDF) or the Wire’s Planning and Zoning Commission page for background.
The city’s Planning & Zoning Commission first announced this hearing in a press release posted to the City of Kirksville’s official News page on Sept. 2 — “Special Planning and Zoning meeting, public hearing on data center regulation being held Sept. 16” — ahead of the CivicReady reminder alert sent Sept. 11. The city’s release frames the relocated, larger venue as a response to “strong public interest” in the data-center zoning question and says the meeting will cover proposed Chapter 44 zoning standards for data-center development.
