Downtown Cinema 8 (115 North Elson St.) has four movies in its lineup this week that weren’t showing at our last check: Primetime (R), starring Robert Pattinson and directed by Lance Oppenheim; Heart of the Beast (PG-13), starring Brad Pitt and J.K. Simmons; Forgotten Island (PG), an animated adventure with H.E.R., Dave Franco and Lea Salonga; and Avengers: Endgame, back for an anniversary encore showing. Holdovers include Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Practical Magic 2, Resident Evil and Daniel and the Fiery Furnace. Full showtimes at downtowncinema8.com.
No changes at Curtain Call Theatre’s Classic Films series or stage schedule, Truman State’s Theatre Department, or the Kohlenberg Lyceum Series since our last check, and Kirksville High School has still not announced a fall production. See our theatre and film guide for the full rundown.
