Downtown Cinema 8 (115 North Elson St.) has two movies in its lineup this week that weren’t showing at our last check: Runner (PG-13), starring Alan Ritchson, Owen Wilson and Rodrigo Santoro; and Coyote vs. Acme (PG), starring Will Forte and John Cena. Holdovers include Primetime, Heart of the Beast, Forgotten Island, Avengers: Endgame – Encore, Resident Evil, Daniel and the Fiery Furnace, Practical Magic 2 and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Full showtimes at downtowncinema8.com.
Truman State University’s Theatre Department events page also lists a free “Spring Student Showcase” — musical theatre performances from its Musical Theatre Workshop — set for April 19 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre, Ophelia Parrish.
No changes at Curtain Call Theatre’s Classic Films series or stage schedule, or the Kohlenberg Lyceum Series, since our last check, and Kirksville High School has still not announced a fall production. See our theatre and film guide for the full rundown.
